This spring Half Marathon, 10K and 5K race is held on the gorgeous, thrilling and rolling trails of Castle Rock’s Phillip S. Miller Park & Ridgeline Trail systems. The singletrack course isn’t overly technical, but has enough rocks & roots to keep it fun for both first-time and veteran runners, and provides a nice launchpad for ultramarathoners gearing up for longer summer events.

The North Fork 50 Mile/50K takes place on the beautiful singletrack trails of the Buffalo Creek Recreation Area, about 50 miles southwest of Denver. Starting at an elevation of 6,700 ft. above sea level, runners will enjoy a variety of terrain in the Pike National Forest, including shady evergreens, burn-scar from the 1996 Buffalo Creek fire, and blooming mountain wildflowers that explode with color!
This is a classic mountain ultra, run 100% on soft-surface trails (primarily singletrack with just a few miles of doubletrack/4WD road), with a max elevation of 8,500 ft. 50 Mile & 50K runners will climb a total of 6,600 ft. & 3,900 ft. respectively, and will be well supported by 9 aid stations throughout the race.

Chase the Moon is a 12-hour solo ultramarathon and team relay, run overnight under the light of the full moon on the flowing and fun Highlands Ranch Backcountry singletrack trail system (we promise some incredible nighttime views of the metro area and front range). Running from sunset to sunrise means cooler temps and the opportunity to see how many miles you can accumulate in 12 hours. Solo runners who complete 100K will earn a coveted glow-in-dark buckle!

Bear Creek Lake Park, Lakewood, CO
The Bear Chase offers 5 distances to choose from over a 2-day endurance festival (100K, 50 Mile, 50K, Half Marathon, Baby Bear 10K). An excellent race for first time trail and ultramarathoners, runners will experience a variety of challenging terrain and sweeping panoramic views throughout the race, including the downtown Denver skyline and historic Red Rocks Amphitheater. The course is pretty fast (by trail/ultra standards), and not overly technical, but has lots of variety and challenge (and even a water crossing or three), on the singletrack trails to keep things interesting.
